Parents and teachers working together for student success

The PTO: a key part of SVIS’s International Community
The PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) brings together volunteer parents who wish to become involved in school activities. PTO members work hand in hand in the students' best interests, actively supporting the school's educational programs, events, and extracurricular activities.
This collaborative relationship between parents and educators fosters an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where all families, both local and international, are invited to engage actively. The PTO meets approximately twice per term to assess ongoing initiatives and prepare for future ones.
How the PTO enhances School Life
Throughout the school year, the Parent-Teacher Organization provides concrete support for school life by participating in various initiatives aligned with our institution's projects.
Here are some of the initiatives led by the PTO:
- Support for educational projects and school extracurricular activities
- Organization of school events and logistical support
- Participation in organizing fundraising events to support additional school programs and equipment purchases
- Contributing to the development of a welcoming and warm school environment
PTO members primarily organize several events during the school year, in collaboration with the educational team and some students.
For instance, at the year-end performance, volunteer PTO parents host refreshment stands featuring treats such as cotton candy, hot dogs, and a range of games, much to the delight of the children.
These special moments play a vital role in fostering connections across generations within our school community.

Welcoming and supporting international families
As our school welcomes many international families, the PTO plays an essential role in integrating newly arrived families. PTO parents who are already well-established in the region help newcomers with their daily needs: sharing practical information, providing logistical advice, recommending English-speaking professionals in Provence, and more.
The PTO also hosts social events, including coffee mornings, to foster connections and support international families as they settle into the local community. These gatherings offer families the opportunity to meet one another, establish meaningful relationships, and become familiar with their new surroundings in a welcoming environment.
How to join our parent-teacher community
The PTO is open to all parents who want to participate in Sainte Victoire International School life. It works to strengthen the bond between families, students, and the educational team.
We welcome all levels of involvement, from helping with individual events to taking on ongoing organizational responsibilities. Every contribution is valued and makes a meaningful difference to our school community. To join our parent network, please contact the school.
