Shaping confident learners through sport
At Sainte Victoire International School, sport is a key part of our educational approach. Regular physical activity plays a vital role in students’ wellbeing, academic performance, and overall development. Integrated into the daily routine from an early age, sport helps students grow into confident, respectful, and engaged individuals, ready to take on future challenges with energy and purpose.
Daily sports for every student
All students, whether in primary school, middle school, or high school, benefit from one hour of sport every day throughout the school year. This daily physical activity is essential to their balance and wellbeing. It allows them to recharge, channel their energy, and return to the classroom with greater focus and a positive mindset for learning.
Sport also plays a meaningful role in students’ academic success. It provides regular opportunities to develop key skills such as communication, teamwork, active listening, empathy, and critical thinking. At SVIS, sport is a daily opportunity to grow. Through daily practice, students learn to handle success and failure with integrity, follow rules, and show respect to others. These values support students throughout their education, and well beyond!

''Regardless of the discipline, sport consistently teaches values that are essential to a child’s development.''- Frédéric Fabre, SVIS Headmaster

How sport contributes to personal development
Through the wide range of sports offered at SVIS, students develop essential values that extend far beyond their school years:
- Respect: for rules, opponents, and teammates
- Perseverance: developing the ability to keep going and overcome setbacks
- Team spirit: collaborating, communicating, listening, and supporting one another
- Personal growth: setting meaningful goals and challenging oneself to go beyond them
- Humility: recognising one's limits and learning from defeat
- Leadership: taking initiative and guiding others
By developing these values through sport, students gain the confidence and resilience they need to grow into capable and responsible young adults.

The school also offers two dedicated sports programmes for students looking to further their skills: a Golf Academy and a Tennis School. These allow students to train both during regular class hours and as part of extracurricular sessions in the evenings or on weekends.

Helping students pursue athletic excellence
Some students at SVIS show exceptional ability in specific sports, particularly in golf and horse riding. We are committed to helping them pursue athletic excellence while maintaining a strong academic foundation. Tailored schedules and individual support plans are put in place to ensure they can balance training with their schoolwork.
